Dear WWX fans,

it is August 18th and we are live!

Join us in the 2024 Pledge Edition of our yearly WWX Fans Prompt Fest, now running in the third year.

We are coming together as a community of creators who plan to work on Wei Wuxian-centric fanworks in the period up to Wei Wuxian's birthday, and encourage and support one another in our endeavors.

How does it work?

You go to Pledges Thread and announce your Wei Wuxian-centric project that you will be working on in the run-up to his birthday. This can be any media or sort of fanwork, not just fic or art. Podcasts, bookbinding, fannish recipes, the world's your oyster! Any and all ships, dynamics, adaptations welcome.
You can start a new project, pledge to finish a WIP, or to complete the next chapter/the next stage of your project, it's all up to you. Works created for both this abnd other fan events are welcome, too. The only rule is that it has to be about Wei Wuxian.
Posting at any point until October 31st is fine, we just ask you to complete your pledged goal by October 31st, Wei Wuxian's birthday. Once you are done, report your success here!

Why should you commit?

Along with letting you share your initial pledge here, we will put up posts here and on social media where you can share your progress.
We also have the hashtag #wwxbdaypledge so fellow creators can find your social media posts/tweets about your project.
We are hoping for creators to encourage and support one another as they work on their various birthday gifts. We believe that having a specific goal to work towards to and fellow fans to work alongside can help with creativity.
At the end of the event, we are going to create a spreadsheet collecting the links to your works (provided you agreed to be included in the wrap-up.)

Post-sunshot, As rebuilding begins in earnest, Lotus Pier requests assistance from clans. GusuLan strikes a marriage alliance deal, wwx and lxc (because they can see what an asset wwx will be). I want the fic to explore huanxian's relationship as they work to rebuild the lan clan as stronger than ever, both in terms of their values and security, get to know each other and fall in love during wei wuxian's first pregnancy (lan sizhui and lan jingyi). I want to see lxc soften every time he sees the proof his children are well and growing or feels them, and grow from casual lust at the sight of a pretty man to madly in love and lust with his hot af husband who's also doing so much for their clan. I want him to realize how rigid the clan is, how set in their beliefs and how they hurt amazing people like wwx and set precedent to fix those issues. And then I want the entire clan to soften, accept wwx and heal as they see the twins grow. And I want lxc and wwx to have a relationship full of love, trust and respect as they raise their two gremlins. lxc will be the best dad ever and he'll let his kids and husband get away with everything as long as its not dangerous to any of them three.

bonus if you add wen remnants living and being moved to cloud recesses and the wen siblings (wen ning didnt die) are massively protective of wwx, wen qing being his primary physician. he cultivates a new and stronger than before core thanks to constant meals, good peaceful environment, no fear of being punished for surpassing anyone, happiness and lots of dual cultivation. Wen qing's guidance helps. maybe show us a snippet or two of the future with wwx leading nighthunts of juniors from various clans and being an amazing father to his kids and someone all the juniors look up to!

Oh and wwx definitely calls him "A-Huan" because I am a sucker for this. What lxc calls him is up to you!

DNW's: lxc to have been in a past serious relationship, still having sex with someone else in the fic, children from other partners (aka wwx is the only real serious commitment), miscarriage and unhappy ending. If you put Jiang Clan in the fic, please ensure they either have bare-minimum interactions with wei wuxian, are operating in the background and have no plot-related things OR outright Jiang clan bashing. I dont want JC/WWX reconciliation, nor do I wanna see Jiang clan positively please.
